Wedding Photographer Halifax
Hello, I’m Richard a professional wedding photographer in Halifax
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer in the Halifax area to capture your wedding day, you’re in the right place!
Weddings are joyous happy occasions and whether you’re planning a huge elaborate wedding pulling out all the stops, or just a small intimate ceremony it deserves to be remembered and hiring a photographer like me is the perfect way to capture an everlasting memory of your magical day.
I can provide you with a visual story capturing an everlasting memory, your own magical love story told through pictures as the day unfolds.
I create images that truly represent your wedding day that are a mix of emotions, romance, and authentic moments.
My Style of Wedding Photography
Documentary wedding photography is natural and unobtrusive.
It captures the ebb and flow of the day without you realising, enabling you to truly enjoy your day, spending precious time with your guests without having to take time out to be posed and placed for photos.
It captures those candid moments that often go unnoticed, the little tear in the eye of a partner or parent, that look of pride on the face of a grandparent or the toddler busting some moves on the dancefloor.
True precious moments that cannot be staged or forced.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book?
If you wish before deciding to book we can chat over the phone, in person, email or zoom regarding your wedding day photos.
How do we pay?
A deposit is required at the time of booking. This can be paid by bank transfer. Please note this is a deposit and is therefore non-refundable. 28 days prior to the wedding day the remainder of the balance is payable.
Do you take group shots?
Yes! Although I am a documentary wedding photographer, I understand that some weddings require a certain amount of traditional group photos. Please make sure you send me the group shots you require via email prior to your wedding day.
How long after the wedding do I get my images?
I aim to get your photos to you within 4 weeks after your wedding day, you will receive an email with a link to your online gallery. You can share this link with family and friends, download the images, and order prints.
How many photos will I receive?
For a full day shoot we will provide around 400+ professionally edited photographs.
Do you have insurance and back up equipment?
I have professional insurance to cover every aspect of my business and I carry two cameras and a variety of lenses to each wedding so if there was any sort of failure on the day, I am still able to work.
How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?
It’s best to book as soon as you’ve set your wedding date, especially during peak seasons (spring and summer). I typically recommend securing your photographer 12-18 months in advance to avoid disappointment.
What areas do you cover?
I’m based in Sheffield but happily travel across the UK and even internationally for weddings. Additional travel costs may apply for venues further afield, and these can be discussed during the consultation.
Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding shoots?
Yes, I do! Engagement shoots are a great way for us to get to know each other, help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera, and capture some lovely images before the big day. These shoots are currently £150.
What happens if it rains on the wedding day?
Rainy days can create some beautiful and unique photos! I always come prepared with umbrellas and work with the venue to find sheltered or indoor locations. We’ll make the best of the weather to capture stunning images.
Do you work alone or with a second photographer?
A second photographer is included on full day weddings and can be really useful in capturing different angles or capturing simultaneous moments.
Can we give you a list of specific shots we’d like?
Absolutely! While I’ll guide the day and capture candid moments, I welcome a list of must-have shots, such as family groupings or specific details that are important to you.
